The region of the South East of Morocco has many things to offer to its visitors.
In this full day trip from Marrakech to Ouarzazete, we will take you to see the beauty of this region,and admire the the Amazing cream pink-coloured kasbahs.
We will pick you up very early from your accomodation,and we will start our journey toward Ouarzazete.
South- east of Marrakech , approximately 50 km (31 miles),and we will start to climb the mountains starting to pass via too many bends , well known as Tizi-n Tichka pass. The latter has about 2269 meters altitude above sea level.
On our way,you will admire the berber villages,and the panorama in the mountains is chaning from one curve to another.Then we will go down into the the arid pre-Sahara to arrive to the city of Ouarzazete , which is believed being the gateway to the desert , and also it is the core of Morocco’s Film idustry.
In ouarzazete , we will visit the kasbah of Taorirt , which was Founded in the 17 century by Amgar Hammad according to the popular narration.This man was one of the most important wealthy people in the region at the time.Nowday,the kasbah is among the beautiful monuments in Morocco , and it is actually a famous touristic attraction; and also a place where a lot of local shows , concerts , seminare are held.
The Kasbah was taken by the familly Galwi during the 19 century,beacause of its important startegic role,and the also to control the caravane trade coming from the South going to the North.
After having our lunch,we will visit the kasbah Ait Benhadou ,where a lot of American films were shoted ,likewise, Gladiator, Lawerance of Arabia, Prince of Persia… thanks to its strategic location in the valley of Ounila, it was able to play a very important role in the caravane trade between the regions of the former Sudan and the imperial cities of Morocco. It is an eminent example of ksar in Southern Morocco illustrating the main types of the earthern constructions that may be observed dating from the 17 th century in the valley of Dra, Todgha, Dades, and souss. Since 1987 it was listed as UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE.
