Rabat is the imperial city travellers skip and regret skipping. The Kasbah of the Udayas, the unfinished Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V take a morning; the Chellah, a Roman town turned Marinid necropolis full of storks, takes another hour. The medina is small and friendly, with none of the pressure of Fes or Marrakech.
