Towering rock walls of the Todra Gorge near Tinghir under a blue sky

Todra Gorges

A canyon so narrow the sun only reaches the bottom at noon, and a favourite of climbers.

The Todra river has cut a gorge through the Atlas limestone that is 300 metres deep and in places barely 10 metres wide. The road runs through it, which makes it easy to visit, and a short walk along the river gives you the scale. Climbers from all over the world come for the routes on the walls.
